Betty Lou Jankowski, age 84, of Green Lake, died Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon.

Betty Lou was born in Rhinelander, WI, on March 7, 1924, the daughter of Frederick Kradwell and Merle (Morris). She graduated from Green Lake High School and attended St. Mary’s Nursing School. In her younger years Betty Lou helped her parents run their Green Lake pharmacy and soda fountain, Kradwell’s. She was a housewife, worked as a secretary for the Green Lake County nurse, and was an election volunteer for the City of Green Lake. Betty Lou was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, the American Legion Auxiliary, Homemakers of Green Lake County, Sweet Adelines, and had been active in Girl Scouts. On September 13, 1947, she married David Anthony Jankowski in Green Lake, WI.

Survivors include her children, David Anthony (Mary) Jankowski Jr. of Traverse City, MI, Timothy Frederick (Linda) Jankowski of Green Lake, WI, Michael Joseph (Julie) Jankowski of Green Lake, WI, and Jan Daniel Jankowski of Waukau, WI; grandchildren, Katie (Derek) Dean of San Francisco, CA, Carrie (Joe) Ruiz of Chicago, IL, Kristen (DJ) Shook of Ellensburg, WA, Carley Jankowski of Traverse City, MI, Ethan Jankowski of Phoenix, AZ, Ava Jankowski of Winona, MN, Stefan Jankowski of Green Lake, WI, and Anna Jankowski of Green Lake, WI; step-grandchildren, Joe (Laura) Dobrowits of Glendale, WI, and Heidi (David) Walsh of Ripon; great-grandchildren, Cora Shook, Caspian Ruiz, Zoe Walsh, Thomas Dobrowits, and Ben Dobrowits. Also surviving is brother John Hull of Minneapolis, MN and half brothers Roy Hull jr. of Merrill, WI and William Hull of Rhinelander, WI. Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Visitation for Betty Lou Jankowski will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008, from 9-11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake.

A memorial Mass for Betty Lou Jankowski will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Inurnment will be in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. Memorials may be given in Betty Lou’s name to the American Legion Auxiliary or the Caestecker Public Library in Green Lake.
