Betty J. Pinch, age 84, formerly of Rosendale, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh, with her family at her side.
Betty was born in Fond du Lac on November 8, 1924 the daughter of Elmer and Irma (Rousseau) Pfeiffer. She graduated from Rosendale Union Free High School in 1943, and attended Wisconsin Rural Normal School in Green Lake County in 1945. Then she taught in a one room school in Rogersville, WI. On June 24, 1947 she married James L. Pinch. Betty was a substitute teacher for the Rosendale school district and later was a teachers’ aide, and later worked in Johnson Hall at Ripon College. She belonged to the Willow Lane Homemakers, and Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale.
Survivors include her children, Lynn Pinch (special friend, Donna Johnson) of Appleton, Lauren (Richard) Schultz of Eldorado, and Douglas (Catherine) Pinch of Green Lake; grandchildren, Cory (Kristen) Schultz, Craig Schultz, Andrea (Cooper) Jones, Holly (Kevin) VanDeHei, Kimberly Pinch, Jessica (Andrew) Smutek, and Jacob Pinch; great-grandchildren, Johanna & Lilyanna Schultz; sister, Sally (Arden) Wahoske of Ripon; brother, John Pfeiffer of Rosendale, sister, Bonnie (Robert) Perr of Ripon. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and sister-in-law, Sandra Pfeiffer.
Visitation for Betty J. Pinch will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale.
Funeral Service for Betty J. Pinch will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Peace Lutheran Church with the Reverend Charles R. Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Rosendale Cemetery, Village of Rosendale. A Memorial has been established in her name.
The family extends a special thank you to all the care givers at Bethel Home of Oshkosh for the care given to Betty.
