Beverly M. Thomann, age 69, of Ripon, WI, passed away on December 22, 1986, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI.
Beverly was born April 27, 1917, in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Roxie (Anderson) Mureen. She graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, IL with the class of 1939. She went on to be a secondary school teacher in Knoxville, IL prior to her marriage and she became a housewife after marriage. On December 27, 1944, Beverly married Don Thomann. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Ripon, member and past president of Congregational Church Womens Fellowship. Beverly was a past chairman of the Decons and Pastora Relations Committee, and longtime Sunday School Teacher. She was a member and past president of The American Association of University Women and a member and past president of Ripon Education Club. She also was a longtime member of the College Colleagues and author of the book, When a Woman Wills, a history of the women of Ripon, WI.
Survivors include her husband, Don; one daughter, Lee Ann Johnson of Alameda, CA; one granddaughter, Erin of Alameda, CA; mother, Roxie (Ernest) Mureen of Galesburg, IL; three sisters, Ruth (Webster) Gehring of Galsburg, IL, Marion (Robert) Mariner of Galesburg, IL and Shirley (Robert) Spenader of Amboy, IL. She was preceded in death by her father and one daughter, Kathleen.
Visitation for Beverly will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 1986, from 6:30 9:00 pm in the lounge of the Congregational Church in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Beverly will be held on Wednesday, December 24, 1986, at 11:00 am at Congregational Church in Ripon with Reverend Allan Martling officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial has been established for the church.
