Bonnie Brooks

Bonnie (nee Meyer) Brooks, age 75, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Appleton Medical Center.
Bonnie was born on May 11, 1937, in Greendale, the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Gerke) Meyer. She was an early resident of Greendale, WI and graduated from Greendale High School with the best ever class of 1955. She lived most of her adult life in Ripon, where she was an active member of the community. Bonnie studied at Ripon College, served on the school board, was devoted to the Historical Society and a founding member of the Ripon Dog Park.
Survivors include her son, David (Trish) Brooks; grandchildren, Logan, Audrey, Kenna and Jacob Brooks and Hollie and Tyler Reak. Bonnie is further survived by her sister, Gretchen (Bob) Brue; niece, Heidi (Jim) Brue and cousin Peggy (Fran) Pompe. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and son, Dan.
In lieu of a memorial service, there will be a coffee gathering on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 3:00 pm at First Congregational Church, UCC, 220 Ransom St., Ripon, WI for all of Bonnie’s friends. Memorials may be directed to Friends of the Ripon Dog Park Atten: Elizabeth Olson-Treasurer, 709 Thorne St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Bonnie’s family would like to especially thank Willie Faust for the care he gave to Bonnie and her dear dog, Sam. We also are thankful for the devotion of Bonnie’s many friends.
