Bruce Thomas Marchant

Bruce Thomas Marchant, age 94, of Rosendale, passed away, Monday, August 31, 2015, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.

Bruce was born September 7, 1920, in Rosendale, WI, the son of Thomas and Dorothy (Thomas) Marchant. He was a graduate of Rosendale Union Free High School. Bruce married Rose Keith at the Rosendale United Church of Christ on September 11, 1992. Bruce lived his entire life in Rosendale. He served multiple terms as a member on the Village Board and as a Church Trustee. Bruce enjoyed golfing, polka dancing, and was an active farmer until his death.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Marchant; sons, Wesley Marchant and David (Carol) Marchant both of Rosendale, WI; daughter, Marilyn Schumacher of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Wendy, Heidi, Craig, Jessica, Jared, Jamie, and Amanda; great grandchildren, Eleanor, Hailee, Carson, Cianna, Ashton, Stella, Cole, Alexis, Keegan, and Chasity. Bruce is further survived by his four nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Burr “Bo” (Ruth) Marchant, and their daughter, Bonnie Marchant.

A Private Family Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Rosendale United Church of Christ, 204 Division St., P.O. Box 515, Rosendale, WI. Reverend Wesley Wassell will officiate. Memorials may be donated to the Rosendale United Church of Christ or may be donated to the charity of choice made in Bruce’s name.
