Carl Albright

Carl E. Albright, age 78, of Ripon, WI, died Wednesday, February 2, 2000, at Parkview Care Center.

He was born May 20, 1921, in the Township of Nepeuskun, the son of Charles and Ella (Sauerbrei) Albright. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical Church in Ripon. He married Irene Malzhan on September 26, 1942, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ. Carl was a member of the church for 57 years, served two terms on the church council, was past president of the Married Couples Club, took part in greeting and ushering and was a member of the church dart ball league. He loved playing cards, and also served on the Rush Lake School Board. Carl farmed all his life until he retired, on the farm where he was born. He truly loved working the land and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved his family and had a sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Irene; two daughters, Marvis Rodrigues and Mary Ellen (Randy) Hays of Tucson, AZ; one son, James (Janet) Albright of Ripon; six grandchildren, Charles (Sue) Michel, Emily Rodrigues, Ashley Hays, Kimberly, Matthew and Aaron Albright. Carl is survived by one niece, Rogene (Ed) Scoville; nephews, Myron (Pat) Splittgerber; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son; parents; two sisters, Dena (Ed) Splittgerber and Lilace (Mike) Kalapich; nephew, Ronald; and aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 6, 2000, from 1 until 3 pm at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Funeral Service will be Sunday, at 3 pm at the church with Pastor Eric Burnard officiating. Interment will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery in the Town of Nepeuskun. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the church.
