Carl Anklam, age 76, of Berlin, WI, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah with his family by his side.
Carl was born on November 27, 1935, in Ripon, the son of Harry and Ruby (Lyness) Anklam. He graduated from Ripon High School and also graduated from Plumbing School. While attending plumbing school, Carl worked at Speed Queen in Ripon, then after graduating he was employed with Bryden Plumbing. He then worked at Ripon Foods and after retirement, Carl worked at Ace Hardware in Ripon. Carl served our country in the United States Army. In 1956, he married Elaine Dunham and after her passing in 1999, Carl married Phyllis Searl on August 27, 2005 in Berlin. Carl was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. He was an avid Packer fan. Carl enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas and Jamaica and staring on the Price is Right. He had many good times with his boating partners, Gary and Diane Booth and Ron and Carol Kentopp on his Pontoon Boat which he referred to as his Cadillac on the water.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Berlin, WI; daughter, Sherryl Anklam of Oshkosh, WI; granddaughter, Becky Anklam of Ripon, WI; great-granddaughter, Faith Anklam of Ripon, WI; brother-in-law, Ron (Carol) Kentopp of Oshkosh, WI; step-children, Paul (Bonnie) Searl of Wild Rose, WI, Ray Searl of Appleton, WI, Tom Searl of Houston, TX and Cindy (Scott) Gorges of Appleton, WI; seven step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Elaine; daughter, Sherry; sister, Shirley Dalka and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Janice Dunham.
Visitation for Carl will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, from 9 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Carl will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Dennis Ellisen will officiate. Full Military Honors will be performed following the service. A memorial is being established.
