Carl H. Doehling, age 89, of Ripon, WI, passed away on May 21, 1985, at Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon.
Carl was born April 17, 1896, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Charles and Lucille (Fauckie) Doehling. He served our country in the United States Army during WWI as a Captain. Carl graduated from Denver High School, then went on to further his education by receiving his bachelors degree at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado and then to the University of Wisconsin Graduate School. Carl married Helen Husting on January 31, 1981. He worked as a Coach and Athletic Director at Ripon College for 37 years, retiring in 1961. Carl founded Ripon Award Jacket Company in 1974. He was a member of Ripon Kiwanis, American Legion and was elected to Ripon College Athletic Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; one daughter, Barbara Doran of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Kathleen Kovely of Anaheim, CA and Michael McDonnell of Whitesboro, New York; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Kovely of Anaheim, CA and Mary McDonnell of Whitesboro, New York and one brother, Francis Doehling of Denver, CO.
Visitation for Carl will be held on Friday, May 24, 1985, from 1:45 pm to 3:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Carl will be held on Friday, May 24, 1985, at 3:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Dr. Leanore Dickmann, Reader and Reverend Jerry Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon.
