Carl Martin Sauerbrei, age 74, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 1957, at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh.
Carl was born July 6, 1882, in Germany, the son of Martin and Anna (Gestrov) Sauerbrei. He was in the vincinity of Ripon since he was one year old. On September 21, 1904, Carl married Helen Schultz in Green Lake. He was a farmer his whole life.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; one daughter, Hazel of Ripon; one son, Fred of Ripon; two brothers, Ernest of Green Lake and Paul of Neshkoro; five sisters, Mrs. Meta Albright, Mrs. Robert Prellwitz and Mrs. Herman Sommerfeldt all of Ripon, Mrs. John Wallace of Berlin and Mrs. Charles Albright of Rush Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 18, 1957, after 3:00 pm at Butzin Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Carl will be held on Saturday, April 20, 1957, at 2:00 pm at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon with The Reverend E.E. Schieler officiating. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
