Carleton D. Retzlaff, age 83, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.
Carleton was born November 1, 1932, in Wisconsin, the son of Otto and Dora (Stolfuss) Retzlaff. He graduated from high school and went on to serve our country in the United States Army. On May 5, 1956, Carleton married Patricia Hughes in Berlin, WI. He was a life time member of the Belleview Memorial VFW Post 8083. Carleton and Pat moved to Florida when he retired from Blue Cross. He enjoyed hunting and golf and was an avid Packer fan. Carleton was a member of Our Saviours United Church in Ripon while he and Pat lived in Wisconsin. Upon moving to Florida, he became a member of Incarnation Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir.
Carleton is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia; one son, Steven (Pamela) Retzlaff; three grandchildren, Leah and Adam Eernisse and Keenan Retzlaff; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Gavin and Maja Eernisse; one brother, Donald (Caroline) Retzlaff; sister, Kathryn Lang and sister-in-law, Janice Retzlaff. Carleton was further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Dora Retzlaff; one brother, Orville Retzlaff and one brother-in-law, David Lang.
Visitation for Carleton will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016, from 10 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Carleton will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. Reverend Dr. Kevin P. Mundell will officiate. Interment will follow at Nepeuskun Cemetery in the Town of Nepeuskun with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to Our Saviours United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
