Carlton Ferch

January 2, 1915 — April 27, 1995

Canton W. Ferch, 80, of 578 Gold St., Green Lake, died unexpectedly April 27, 1995, while fishing at Green Lake.

He was born January 2, 1915, in the Town of Springvale, a son of the late Charles and Hattie Gransee Ferch. He was educated in Rosendale. On October 19, 1937, he married Joy Phillips. They made their home in West Rosendale before moving to Green Lake 27 years ago. Canton was an avid fisherman and a well-know and respected carpenter. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Green Lake and past member of the church council. Carlton was active in building Peace Lutheran church school and parsonage.

Survived by wife, Joy G.; 2 daughters, Carolee (Earl) Floyd of Ripon and Marsyl (Dale) Kunkle of Rosendale; 4 grandchildren, Michael (Shari) Floyd of Ripon, Denise (Mark) Eberhart of Ripon, Ann (Kemp) Jones of LaCrosse and Sue Kunkle and her fiancee, Tim Zima of Oshkosh; and 1 great-granddaughter, Chloe J. Eberhart of Ripon. Additional survivors include 1 brother, DuWayne (Marion) Ferch of Montello; 3 sisters-in-law, Faye Ebert of Green Lake, Eva Martin of Berlin and Marie Phillips of New Jersey; 1 brother-in-law, Clarence Laboyeske of Ripon; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services for the late Carlton Ferch will be held 11:30 A.M. Saturday. April 29, 1995, at Peace Lutheran Church, Green Lake. The Rev. Rodney Dietsche will officiate. Interment will be in the Rosendale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral; Home in Ripon, and again on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
