Carlton Lehman

August 6, 1911 — January 12, 2000

Canton F. Lehman, 88, of Ripon, died Wednesday, January 12, 2000, at Ripon Medical Center.

Canton was born on August 6, 1911, In the Town of Metomen, the son of Edwin and Martha (Smith) Lehman. He attended Holmes School in the Town of Metomen. On June 2, 1948, he married Luetta Meerstein at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth. He farmed, managed a feed mill, worked for Silver Creek Cannery, Nellis Stone Quarry, Ripon College and Larsen Factory, and for over 22 years, Carlton was a welder at Speed Queen. He was a member of Local 1327 Union retirees. Mr. Lehman was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, and served as Usher, Trustee and Financial Secretary.

Survivors include his wife, Luetta of Ripon; daughter, Diane (Daryl) Luck, and grandchildren, Scott and Stephanie Luck, all of North Freedom, Wl;i brother, Charles (Leesetta) Lehman; sister, Avice Keplin. Carlton was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and 3 sisters.

Visitation for Carlton E. Lehman will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2000, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon.

Funeral service for Carlton E. Lehman will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, with Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon.
