Carlton Resheske, age 86, of 850 Sunnyside Rd, Green Lake, formerly of Spring Grove Rd, town of Green Lake, peacefully passed away Sunday evening, June 11, 2006 at Green Lake Manor, with his family at his side.
Carlton was born on September 15, 1919, on the corner of Lyon St. and Vermont St. in the Lyon stage coach house in Ripon, the son of John R. and Louise (Zeigner) Resheske. He graduated from Ripon High School. Carlton served his country in the US Army from 1941-1945 serving in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe and was part of the European Occupational Force. Carl received the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater ribbons. He married Dorothea Hunold, she passed away in 1969. On March 10, 1979 he married Gladys M. (Duzinski) Gneiser at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Carlton was a construction worker for CD Smith in Fond du Lac for more then 25 years.
Survivors include, step-daughters, Gail Tremore of Waunakee, Georgia (Joel) Schultz of Green Lake and Greta Gneiser of Milwaukee; step-son, Gary Gneiser of Green Lake; grandchildren, David (Lisa) Tremore of Ripon, Joelle Schultz-Surman of Baraboo, Ginny Schultz of Green Lake, Melissa (Mike) Johnson of Memphis, TN, SSgt Daniel Tremore USMC of Reno, NV., Michael Gneiser of Green Lake, Rachael Gneiser of Arcata, CA, Randy Gneiser of Green Lake and Alexa Mydlach of White Lake, WI; great-grandchildren, Jordan Schultz of Green Lake, Nathan and Katherine Tremore of Ripon and Benjamin Wettstein of Green Lake, one brother, Leo of Ripon. Carlton is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Dorothea, wife, Gladys, 4 brothers, Frank, Peter, Raymond and Michael and 4 sisters, Marion, Myrtle, Elizabeth and Helen.
Visitation for Carlton Resheske will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2006 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 218 Blossom St, Ripon.
Mass of Christian Burial for Carlton Resheske will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, with Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. Private Inurnment will be held in St. Patricks Catholic Cemetery at a later date. A memorial may be directed to Hospice Hope.
