Carol Jane Lee, age 80, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2012, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side.
Carol was born on January 30, 1932, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Avie and Alice (Weinke) Ludtke. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1950. On September 29, 1952, she married Gerald A. Lee at MCAS Chapel in El Toro Santa Ana, CA. Carol was a lifelong member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ where she was baptized and confirmed. She became a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the youth choir, she was head of the Craft Circle for over 12 years and she was also the Quilting Queen, making quilt tops for the group. Carol worked at Schultz Brothers 5 and Dime store, The Breadbasket and R-Line Foods. She enjoyed going to car shows with her husband, Gerry and son, David with the many antique cars they owned.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Gerry of Ripon, WI; four children, Danny (Suki) Lee of Ripon, WI, Larry Lee of Sheboygan, WI, Lori Lee of Sherwood, WI and David (Marie) Lee of Fond du Lac, WI; five grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; one great-granddaughter, Mayleigh; four step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iona of Appleton, WI and Erna of Dunnellon, FL and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Tyffani; one infant brother; five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
Visitation for Carol Lee will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012, from 9 – 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Carol Lee will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971. Reverend Mark R. West will officiate. Interment will follow at Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon, WI. A memorial is being established.
