Casey P. Starr, age 81, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Berlin Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Casey was born January 22, 1933, in Chicago, IL, the son of Casimer Paul Starr and Sophie (Lebda) Starr Joseph. Caseys loves in life were his family, cars, Polish concertina music and children. He owned and drove cars before he was legally old enough to do both. Casey grew up in Chicago, IL, but his favorite time growing up was in Decator, MI with Busha and his uncles on the farm. He loved returning to the farm with his uncles, aunts and cousins.
He always worked hard at many different jobs though out his life. He was self-employed as an auto body man at C. Starr Auto Body in Trevor, WI and purchased a donut shop for his mother after her retirement. Sophie passed before she was able to run the shop. Casey then ran the donut shop while he also ran the auto body shop. After retiring from the auto body shop, he then worked as a maintenance man at Benedictine Abby a retreat center in Bennett Lake, WI for seven years. Casey then worked for The Boys and Girls Club of the Tri-County Area before fully retiring at age 75. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa (Darren G.) Starr Nelson of Green Lake, WI; his son, Paul Starr of Twin Lakes, WI; his grandson, Darren C. Nelson of Green Lake, WI and many cousins, aunts and uncles and nieces. Casey was preceded in death by his parents, mother of his children, Elizabeth Starr; grandson, Christian Starr Nelson and sister, Pauline Starr Bronzck.
Visitation for Casey will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 2014, from 10 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
Mass of Christian Burial for Casey will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 2014, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. Father Philip Krogman will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Memorials may be directed to The Boys and Girls Club of the Tri-County Area, P.O. Box 254, Berlin, WI 54923-0254.
