Catherine Mae Towne, 61, of Ripon, died Thursday, June 13, 1996 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on January 30, 1935, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Arnold Butch and Mildred (Iserloth) Rohlfs. On June 11, 1955, she married Glenn Towne at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.
She and her husband lived in the Ripon area most of their married life. She was employed at Parkview Care Center in Ripon as a nursing assistant for 22 years.
Survivors include 6 children, John Towne of Ripon, Jean Denbrook and her husband, Lynn of Orlando, FL, Jeanette Albright and her husband, Robert of Pickett, Joan Bender and her husband, Todd of Ripon, Jay Towne and his wife, Tammy of Markesan, and Janel Towne of Ripon; 2 sisters, Arlyle Towne and her husband, Kenneth of Rosendale and Ione Hodgden and her husband, Ralph of Fond du Lac; 4 grandchildren,
Travis and Trevor Bender, Allison Towne and Jared Denbrook; 1 step-grandchild, Tiffany Bender; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, twin sister, Carol (Otte) Elgersma in 1983, 1 son, Jerry Towne in 1979, and 1 daughter, Jane Towne in 1988.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 16, 1996, at 2 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Rev. Paul Francis officiating. Burial will be in the Rosendale Cemetery, Village of Rosendale. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15th from 4 until 9 P.M. at the funeral home.
