Charles Wizner, age 78, of Ripon, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Charles was born on November 12, 1929, in Ripon, the son of Frank and Gladys (Antkowiak) Wizner. He graduated from Ripon High School, and went on to pursue a career in Advertising. On August 25, 1956, Charles married Margaret Jenuwine in Ripon. Charles worked for Fabrico, Inc. for 46 years, and served in the Wisconsin National Guard. He was a member of the Ripon Fire Department, as well as a member of the Rotary Club and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Wizner, sons; Richard Wizner of Portage, WI, and David (Melissa) Wizner of Ripon, daughters; Barbara (Daniel) Riordan of Lake Villa, IL, Amy (Peter) Dickmann of Kewaskum, WI, grandchildren; Catherine, Madeline, and Mary Riordan, Audrey (Nate) Lautenbach, Margaret and Jacob Dickmann, Kassandra Wizner, and Alaina Crerar. Also surviving are step-granddaughters Marina and Kristi Buzzell. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, 14 brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Charles Wizner will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Visitation will again be on Saturday, January 19, 2008 from 10:00-10:40 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home where we will continue to Mass thereafter at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac St., Ripon.
Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Wizner will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Fond du Lac St., with the Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A Memorial has been established.
