Charlotte Zamzow, age 86, of Green Lake, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2008, at Fountain View Care Center after a long struggle with Alzheimers.
Charlotte was born on March 25, 1921, in Green Lake, the daughter of Walter and Molly (Tabbert) Deibert. She graduated from Green Lake High School where she and her husband Bud danced as prom king and queen. In her early working years during the war, Charlotte worked at the Knitting Works in Ripon. Later, she worked as a caregiver at both Juliet Manor in Berlin and Fountain View Care Center in Ripon. On October 24, 1942, Charlotte married Robert Bud Zamzow. She loved to travel to California to visit, take care of her grandsons, and just be with people. Charlottes pride in her violets was well known. She belonged to the Oshkosh Violet Club, and was also a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Survivors include her 3 sons, Dennis Zamzow of San Jose, CA, Gary (Liz Frawley) Zamzow of Davis, CA, and Chuck (Anne) Zamzow of Oshkosh; grandsons, Wyatt (Lindsey) of Whitefish Bay, WI, and Aaron of Golden Valley, MN; great-grandson, Zachary Zamzow; sister, Ester (Jim) Briski of Berlin; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation for Charlotte Zamzow will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Memorial service for Charlotte Zamzow will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be scheduled in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. Memorials in Charlottes name may be given to: Alzheimers Assn, Southeast WI 6130 West National Ave, Suite 200 Milwaukee, WI 53214.
