Cheryl Ruth Walsh, age 69, of Ripon, WI, passed away with loved ones by her side on Saturday, February 6, 2016, after an eight year courageous battle with cancer.
Cheri was born Saturday, July 13, 1946, in Milwaukee, WI, to Herbert and Edna (Steinhagen) Kastner, baptized on August 18, 1946. She was a 1964 graduate of Rufus King High School and on May 4, 1968, Cheri married John Scott Walsh.
Cheri loved to make people laugh and was a great person to be around. She loved her dog Teddy, the Packers, making cookies for many family and friends, and playing cards with family. Cheri also loved to collect unique vintage things found through thrift store shopping and rummage sales. Her quick wit and sassy comebacks will be greatly missed.
Cheri is survived by her husband of 48 years, John Walsh of Ripon, WI; two sons, Jeff (Jill) Walsh of Caledonia, WI and Jason (Sheri) Walsh of Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Chris (Alivia) Walsh, Logan Sobczak, Jaylynn Walsh, Brandon Walsh, and Riley Walsh; one brother, Richard (Sharon) Kastner of El Paso, TX; brothers-in-law, Tom Walsh of West Allis, WI, Jim Walsh of Mukwonago, WI, Tim (Suzzanne) Walsh of Deer Valley, WA; sisters-in-law, Susan (Mark) Wilson of Kenosha, WI and Sharon Matson of Racine, WI and nieces, Carla (Tim) Dugan of Cedarburg, WI and Laurel (Dan) Watson of Terre Haute, IN. Cheri was further survived by many nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren, and many many wonderful friends. Cheri was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Edna; father and mother-in-law, Irvin and Genevieve Walsh; two sisters, Joyce Weber and Grace Cenek; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Kroening and Sharon Walsh and two brothers-in-law, John Weber and Karl Cenek.
Visitation for Cheryl will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 3 – 6:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
A memorial to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 6:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, N6650 Rolling Meadows Dr., Suite 1, Fond du Lac, WI 54937-9471.
