Claire M. Duffy, age 89, died Sunday, April 14, 1996, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon where she had briefly resided.
She was born March 3, 1907, in Scranton, PA, the daughter of John and Margaret (Hallinan) Haran. She graduated from high school in Scranton, and for most of her life, she had been a telephone operator. On August 28, 1928, she married Wi11iam F. Daffy. She lived in Buffalo, NY, Chicago, IL and recently moved to Green Lake. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Green Lake.
Survivors include 2 sons, William (Edna) Duffy of Green Lake and Joseph Duffy of Springfield, MO; 1 daughter, Frences Jean (Gene) Racine of Green Lake; 2 daughters-in-law, Hedwig “Heddy” Duffy of Green Lake and Frances Duffy of IL; 28 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Duffy, 2 sons, Robert and John Duffy. 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 17, 1996 at 10:00 A.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Father William L. Toelle officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:30 P.M. with a Rosary at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
