Clara Gitzel

January 1, 1922 — March 17, 2005

Clara E. Gitzel, 83, of Green Lake, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 17, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Clara was born on January 1, 1922 in Green Lake County, WI, the daughter of Reinhold and Pauline (Keplin) Feder. She attended Green Lake County Schools. On March 21, 1941 she married Ralph Gitzel at the Berlin Gospel Tabernacle in Berlin. Clara was a member of the Hillside Assembly of Ripon were she was a Sunday School teacher for several years. She was employed by Admanco Inc. of Ripon for twenty-four years and also worked at Del Monte of Markesan for seven years. She was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma to her family. Clara had a large green thumb; for a garden of flowers, vegetables, bushes, and trees. She enjoyed decorating homes such as; painting, wall papering, staining and varnishing.

Clara is survived by her husband, Ralph of Green Lake; two daughters, Carol Schultz of Ripon and Donna (Dave) Harper of Madison; one son, Gary (Kathy) Gitzel of Ripon; one grandson, Greg; one granddaughter Kara; and three step-granddaughters; Sabrina, Nichole and Rhonda, and three great-grandchildren; Cody, Alexis, and Eric. She is further survived by three sisters Evelyn (Enos) Mantik, Verona Werch and Hazel (Gordon) Minch, all of Ripon; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Feder of Ripon and Elaine Feder-Olsen of Green Lake; several nieces and nephews. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters, and a son-in-law.

Funeral service for Clara Gitzel will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Hillside Assembly of Ripon with Rev. Donald Deike officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bluffton Cemetery, Town of Brooklyn. Visitation will be Sunday, March 20 from 4-8 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, and again on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. A memorial has been established.

The Lord blessed her with a fast home going. He put her hard working hands to rest.
We will all miss her dearly.
