Clara Mary Werth

March 9, 1930 — September 28, 2015

Clara Mary Werth, 85, formerly of Markesan, WI went to her Heavenly home Monday, September 28, 2015 after a courageous battle with Dementia.

Clara was born March 9, 1930 to Willard and Irma (Siedschlag) Davison at her parent’s home on Mackford Prairie, she was raised in the area and attended Utley and Markesan Schools. On February 14, 1948 she married the love of her life William Werth at St John’s Lutheran Church in Markesan.

While helping her husband on the farm and raising their children, she also worked as a CNA at Riverdale Manor in Markesan and drove school bus for many years. Education was very important to Clara so after her youngest children reached elementary school she herself went back to school at the age of 50, proving age is only a number and got her LPN Degree at MPTC-FDL. She then worked many years at Ripon Memorial Hospital.

Over the years she faithfully volunteered her time in many area’s including Hospice, Red Cross Blood Drive, 4-H Leader, Church Choir, Sunshine Nursery School, Clay Lamberton Elementary in Berlin and was a “Grandma” in a reading program in Markesan. In her spare time she was a member of the American Legion Auxilary, ZLCW and quilted lap blankets for the seniors at church. Her family became the recipients of her many crafts which included baking, crocheting, knitting, sewing, needle point, quilting and her joy of music.

Survivors include one son Russell (Cindy) Werth of Kingston, eight daughters; Pamela Werth of Markesan, Marion (Jim) Herron of Chicago Heights, IL, Sandra (Chris) Stieber of Ripon, Holly (Toby) Cotton of Roseburg, OR, Cindy Pullyard of Sangerville, ME, Lisa Werth of Annadale, VA, Karen Werth of Markesan and Georgia (Mark) Trochinski of Neshkoro, one son-in-law Todd Hammond of Oelwein, IA, seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two sisters Ramona (Earle) Haima and Annette Cooper, two forever foster brothers Gary Northcott and Edward Rasmussen. Proceeding her in death were her parents, husband William, two daughters Mary Annette in infancy and Deborah Hammond, son-in-law Joseph Pullyard, two sisters Lois Davison and Audrey Hartwell and several nephews.

Visitation for Clara will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 4 – 8:00 pm at Butzin Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, October 2, 2015, 10 – 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 100 Church St., Fairwater, WI 53931.

Funeral Service for Clara will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015, at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in the Village of Fairwater. Pastor Shari Routh will officiate. A private inurnment will take place at Fairwater Cemetery in the Village of Fairwater at a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Agnes Hospice Hope Foundation, 430 E.
