Clarence Carl Hoffman, age 72, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Friday, July 3, 1992, at Appleton Medical Center, Appleton.
He was born on December 8, 1919, in the Town of Brooklyn to Carl and Helen (Krey) Hoffman. He married Isabelle Miner Schure on October 24, 1942, and she preceded him in death on June 5, 1976. On May 30, 1981, he married Betty Machmueller Cole. Clarence farmed in the Town of Brooklyn and for 31 years he was Director of Public Works for the City of Green Lake. He was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon, a member of the Ripon Harmony Kings and was a volunteer for the Green Lake-Brooklyn Fire Department for 35 years. In his lifetime, Clarence had donated 10 gallons of blood.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; one son, Clarence A. (Joann) Hoffman of Green Bay; one daughter, Judith A. Aldrich of Cluster, WI; two stepsons, David A. (Terry) Cole of Berlin and Ritchie B. (Lorna) Cole of Combined Locks; one stepdaughter, Nanette (Matthew) Mlodzik of Berlin; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Arnold (Vera) of Ripon, Eric of Eden, Victor of Elkhorn and Karley of Princeton; and four sisters, Clara Konen, Mabel Wilcox, and Florence (Jerry) Nett, all of Fond du Lac, and Evelyn (Edgar) Waldschmidt of Rosendale. His parents and his first wife preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Clarence Hoffman will be held Monday, July 6, 1992, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviours United Church of Christ, Ripon. The Reverend Harley C.W. Tretow will officiate. Interment will follow in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon.
