Clarence Nitzke

Clarence “Steamer” J. Nitzke, age 60, of Brandon, WI, passed away on Friday, January 20, 1995, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.

He was born September 5, 1934, in Ripon, a son of the late William A. and Marie (Nowak) Nitzke. He attended school in the Town of Metomen and Brandon High School. “Steamer” farmed most of his life in the Town of Metomen and served in the U.S. Army from September 1957 to August 1959. On August 23, 1980, he married Marty Stende. He was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon and had been very active in bowling and softball.

He is survived by his wife, Marty; one brother, Daniel “Bud” (Fran) Nitzke of Ripon; three step-daughters, Jo(Earnest) Wright of Anchorage, AK, Jill (Michael)Beroset of Ypsilanti, Ml and Jaclyn Kloehn of Evansville, IN; nephews, Jeffrey Nitzke(fiancée Brenda Biesenthal) and Jamie Nitzke (fiancée Lesa Schwark) all of Ripon.

Funeral service for Clarence “Steamer” Nitzke will be held Monday at 10 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate and interment will be in Bethel Reeds Corners Cemetery in the Town of Metomen.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2 until 5 pm at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in his name.
