Clarence Smoody

February 9, 1922 — October 14, 1998

Clarence J. Smoody, age 76, formerly of Ripon, died October 14, 1998, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac.

He was born February 9, 1922, in Rush Lake, a son to the late John and Rose (Tetzlaff) Smoody. He was educated in Ripon, and later served in the U.S Navy during WWll from 1943-1946. On February 21, 1946, he married Shirley Margaret Semrad in Milwaukee, and she preceded him in death in February 1988. Clarence farmed most of his life, worked for Schmitt Lumber in Ripon and later was a machinist at Wisconsin Gear in Green Lake.

He is survived by his 5 children, Karen (Glen) Mikelson of N. Fond du Lac,
Larry S moody of Rosendale, Linda Miller (Warren Wallner) of Plainfield, David
Smoody (Rosanne Wallendal) of Fond du Lac, and Joann (Ken) Prill of
Markesan; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; I brother, John (Marge)
Smoody of Ladysmith; and 3 sisters, Mary Rector of Ripon, Theresa Hodge of
Berlin, and Helen (John) Redelman of Brookfield. He was preceded in death by
his wife, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Friends may call Saturday, October 17, 1998, from I until 3 PM at the
Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr, Ripon, followed by A Time of
Remembrance at 3 PM at the funeral home. lnurnment will be in Mt. Calvery
Cemetery, Fond du Lac at a later date. A Memorial has been established in his
name, and may be sent to Karen Mikelson, 1011 Wis. Ave., N. Fond du Lac, WI
54937-1242.
