Clarence V. Thiel, age 79, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Clarence was born July 4, 1934, the son of Emil and Mildred (Pahl) Thiel. He attended Markesan High School. Clarence worked as a Janitor at American Motors in Milwaukee, WI. In his earlier years, he enjoyed dancing and hunting. He enjoyed going out to eat with his family and friends, and playing Bingo. Clarence was a longtime caregiver to his mother and sister. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marquette, WI.
Survivors include his niece Ellen (Roger) Thornton, Portland, OR; nephew, James Raymond, Beaver Dam, WI; great-niece Rachel; great-nephew, Kyle; cousins, Sandra (Mel) Kuphal, Fairwater, WI; Susan Morgan, Mayville, WI; cousins, Trevor Kuphal who was also his godson, Trent Kuphal, Torry (Missy) Kuphal, Amy (Craig) Muenchow, Ronald F. Morgan, as well as other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Emil; mother, Mildred; sister, Frances Thiel; and nephew, Gene Raymond.
Visitation for Clarence V. Thiel will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from 10:00-11:30 am at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 266 Sherman Ave., Marquette, WI 53946.
Funeral Services for Clarence V. Thiel will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 11:30 am, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Village of Marquette. Pastor Michael Plagenz will officiate. Interment will follow at Grand View Cemetery in the Village of Marquette. A memorial has been established and may be sent to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church; or Agnesian Hospice Hope, 745 South Street, Green Lake, WI 54941.
