Claude Angus Lee, 68, of 571 Mill St., Green Lake, die Saturday, October 15, 1988, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
On May 8, 1920, he was born in Markesan to Earl and Mary McCullough Lee. On June 28, 1947, he married Gladys Liptow in Ripon.
Mr. Lee was a graduate of Green Lake High School. From 1963 until 1983, he was Director of Public Works for the City of Ripon. He had resided the last three years in Green Lake.
Mr. Lee was a member of the Ripon Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Green Lake Lions and the Green Lake American Legion, Green Lake County Commissions on Aging and President of Green Lake Senior Citizens. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon and a member of the church council along with being an usher, past member of the board of trustees and co-chairman of the building committee. He served in the Army during World War II, 1942 1946.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Timothy of Beloit; two grandchildren, Christine and Thomas Lee; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Irene) Gneiser of Green Lake and Mrs. Byron (Verna) Keso of Ripon. He was preceded in death by his four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. The Reverend William G. Fenker will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
Friends may call from 5 8:00 pm Tuesday at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, where a Ripon V. F. W. Service will follow at 8:00 pm. A memorial has been established.
