Clayton Clay E. Pamenter, age 93, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, September 13 (13 was his lucky number), 2022 at Barrett House in Ripon.
Clay was born on February 28, 1929 in the township of Brooklyn, WI, son of Charles, Sr. and Nina (Douglas) Pamenter. He graduated from Green Lake High School and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. On January 8, 1955, he married Donna Schroeder in Ripon. They owned and operated the C&D Bar in Fairwater, WI, for over 25 years. Clay was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, and also a member of Mattox-Henslin Legion Post #378 of Brandon/Fairwater and VFW Post #5278 in Ripon. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and in his younger years was known by his friends and family as The Puchyan Pirate, always fishing on the Puchyan River by his house. Clay took in many young people that had troubles in their life and got them back on the right path. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family.
Clay is survived by his wife of 67 years, Donna Pamenter of Ripon, WI; son, Doug (Amy) Pamenter of Ripon, WI; daughter, Cindy (Ed) Goehring of Markesan, WI; three grandchildren, Justin (Nicki) Goehring of Markesan, WI, Kristin (Bijan) Nezami of Oshkosh, WI and Eric (Josie Bednarek) Pamenter of Ripon, WI; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Braelynn, Colton, Olivia, and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles, Sr. and Nina Pamenter; son, Greg Pamenter; sister, Mae Degener; and two brothers, Charles Pamenter, Jr. and Robert Pamenter.
A celebration of Clays life will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, 1:00 - 4:00 pm at The Roost, 308 Washington St, Fairwater, WI 53931. Memorials in his name may be directed to the American Heart Association, 300 S. Riverside Plaza, Ste. 1200M, Chicago, IL 60606-6637.
