Dagny Peterson

Dagny Lucille Peterson, age 85, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Dagny was born on September 30, 1925, the daughter of Martin and Mabel Schye. She graduated from Westby High School, and attended Northwestern Wisconsin Technical School in LaCrosse, WI. Dagny married James McCoy Peterson of LaCrosse, on January 31, 1947. She was employed as a secretary to the Assistant Manager of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of LaCrosse. Dagny worked as a secretary to the Manager of the Order-Billing Department and for the Controller of the Trane Company of LaCrosse, until 1963 when she moved to Ripon. She was employed at the Ripon Commonwealth Press as a Justowriter operator and later employed for 24 years as a secretary for the Ripon Public Schools until retirement in 1986. After retirement, she did volunteer work for the school system and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of which she was a member. Dagny was also an Election Poll worker. Her hobbies included making beautiful counted cross stitch and ceramic projects. She spent many hours watching the Green Bay Packers, and the Milwaukee Brewers as well as Men’s and Women’s Professional Tennis on television.
Dagny is survived by her son, Mark James (Jacqueline) Peterson of Ripon, WI; grandsons, Ryan (special friend Emily Ramharter) Peterson of Madison, WI, and Steffen Peterson of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Lillian Stigen of Westby, WI; and 4 sisters-in-law, Evelyn Schye of Cashton, WI, Rosalie Schye of Westby, WI, Lois Schye of Waunakee, WI, and Kathy Schye of Hainesville, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, 1 sister, 5 brothers, and two brothers-in-law.
Visitation for Dagny L. Peterson will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, from 10 am until noon, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 Griswold St. Ripon, WI. 54971.
Funeral services for Dagny L. Peterson will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at noon, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 Griswold St. Ripon, WI. 54971. Pastor Sandra Krynik will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon, WI. A memorial is being established.
