Daniel "Bud" Nitzke

Daniel “Bud” D. Nitzke, age 80, of Ripon, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Ripon Medical Center.

Bud was born on November 25, 1926 the son of William and Marie (Novak) Nitzke in the Town of Metomen. Bud was very proud that he graduated from the 8th grade at Holms Country School in the Town of Metomen, and on December 18, 1965 he married Frances Daehn in Ripon. He was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, Markesan Lions Club, Fairwater American Legion Post #378 and the V.F.W. Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post #5278 in Ripon. Bud served his country in the US Army from 1951-1954 during the Korean War. Bud worked as a truck driver & mechanic for Fox Valley Transit, he managed the Ripon Shell Station on Blossom Street, was the head maintenance man for Green Lake Ready Mix in Manchester, and owned and operated Ripon Engine Service until his retirement. Bud then worked for different stone quarries as a front end loader driver. During his working career Bud also worked as a part time farmer with his brother.

Suriviors include his sons; Jeff (Brenda) Nitzke and their children; Alexee, Chandler, Willow, and Spencer all of Markesan, Jamie Nitzke of Ripon, and 1 sister-in-law, Marty Kloehn of Ripon. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances and 1 brother, Clarence “Steamer” Nitzke.

Visitation for Daniel “Bud” Nitzke will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2007 from 5-7 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. A visitation will also be held on Monday, April 2, 2007 from 9 am until the time of service at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.

Funeral Service for Daniel “Bud” Nitzke will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 10:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon with Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Reeds Corner Cemetery, Town of Metomen. Full Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside. A Memorial has been established.
