Darlene C. Janes, age 77, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with family by her side.
Darlene was born December 15, 1938, at the family home in the Town of Green Lake, WI, the daughter of Eugene Wilbur and Myrtle Ella (Malzhan) Tettenborn. She graduated from Green Lake High School. On August 14, 1958, Darlene married Eugene D. Janes at The Federated Church of Green Lake just days before Eugene shipped out overseas for his duty in the United States Army. She retired from PGI in Green Lake where she worked as a seamstress. Darlene was a member of The Federated Church of Green Lake.
Survivors include her children, Joyce Janes of West Bend, WI, Vergne (Andrea) Janes of Hubertus, WI and Nancy (Dennis) Sauerbrei of Fairwater, WI; grandchildren, Jenny (Nick) Wirkus and their son, Benjamin, Christopher (fiancé, Megan) Weidner, Kaitlin (Ronald Anthony Thomas Zagorski II) Weidner, Peyton Janes and daughter, Skylar, April (Kirk) Janes, Alyssa (Sam Markos) Janes, Josh Janes, Matthew (Dakota and her daughter, Aria) Lemke, Karyn (Chris) Kreisman and daughter, Storm and Veronica Sauerbrei; three more great-grandchildren on the way; sister, Shirley (Tom) Wollert and Marilyn (David) Sonntag, sister-in-law, Judy Stadler; brothers-in-law, Jim Jacoby, Dennis McFarland and Robert Mehn Sr. Darlene is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eugene; parents-in-law, Vergne and Margaret Janes and sister, Caroline Tettenborn; sisters-in-law, Carroll Mehn, Mary Jacoby and Linda McFarland; brother-in-law, Lee Stadler and uncle-in-law, Ron Stadler.
Visitation for Darlene will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, from 9 11:00 am at The Federated Church of Green Lake, 489 Scott St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
Funeral Service for Darlene will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at 11:00 am at The Federated Church of Green Lake. Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez will officiate. Interment will follow at Bluffton Cemetery in the Town of Brooklyn. A memorial is being established.
