Darwin Dimpfl

Darwin Dimpfl, age 76, of Ripon passed away on October 11, 2007 at home after a long battle with cancer, with his wife and family at his side.
Darwin was born on April 6th, 1931 in Oshkosh, WI the son of Frank and Verna (Abraham) Dimpfl. Darwin graduated from Oshkosh High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. He was a carpenter and retired from Oshkosh Truck in 1994. On December 3, 1955 he married Sally Fabrycki, he enjoyed a full life with his happiest times being on their lake property with his family around him. Even after retirement he continued his carpentry skills by helping his children and their families with many building projects. He loved the outdoors, spending time fishing and gardening between projects. He was an icon to his family with his strong emphasis on family and family values. He will be greatly missed by his wife, and family. Darwin was a past member of the Lions Club in Ohio.
Survivors include his wife Sally of Ripon and their children; Beth (Chuck) Norton of Ripon, James (Toni) Dimpfl of Kaukauna, Carol (Brian) Price of Ripon, and Amy (Bert) Briese of Ripon, 10 grandchildren; Jamie (Jeremie) Vande Brink, Jason Fink, Crystal Fink, Sarah Dimpfl, Maggie Dimpfl, Jessica (Todd) Kaping, Joshua Price, Janet Price, Tyler Briese, and Amber Briese, 7¾ great-grandchildren; Payton, Ryan, Abigail, Makenzie, Nathan, Lily, Savannah, and (soon to arrive) Mason. Darwin is also survived by his sister, Audrey (George) Staerkel of Oshkosh, WI, one brother, Howard Dimpfl of Merton, WI, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters; Jean Klose and Donna Ott.
Visitation for Darwin Dimpfl will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon from 4-7:00 pm and again on Monday, October 15, 2007 from 10-11:00 am at the funeral home.
Funeral Services for Darwin Dimpfl will be held on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with the Reverend Donald Deike officiating. A memorial has been established in his name.
