David Kohls

David J. Kohls, age 60, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon, WI.

David was born on November 11, 1948, in Ripon, the son of George and Doris (Johnson) Kohls. He graduated from Rosendale High School and on July 5, 1968, David married Diane L. Retzlaff. David served our country in the Army for three years and worked at Green Giant in the Rosendale and Ripon plants for many years. After his employment at Green Giant, he worked for N&M Trucking in Neenah.

Survivors include one daughter, Marie (Dennis) Scannell of Fond du Lac, WI; three grandchildren, Danielle Kemnitz, Cody Scannell, and Zander Scannell all of Fond du Lac, WI; mother, Doris Kohls of Ripon, WI; seven sisters, Mary Portz of Ripon, WI, Jean (Bob) Bahn of Berlin, WI, Joan (Richard) Volkmann of Mercedes, TX, Luann (Lee) Potratz of Belleville, WI, Nancy (Bob) Fowler of Ripon, WI, Susan (Steve) Peachy of Eldorado, WI, and Kathy (Keefe) Robinson of Brighton, CO; and his special friend, Linda Turriff of De Pere, WI. David is preceded in death by his father, George Kohls, his son, Christopher Kohls, and his wife, Diane Kohls since March of 2007.

Visitation will be held for David Kohls on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, from 1 – 3:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Memorial Service will be held for David Kohls on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Charles R. Thompson will officiate. A private inurnment will follow at Rosendale Cemetery, Village of Rosendale. Memorials have been established in his name.
