David C. Lang, age 74, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at his home.
David was born on August 5, 1937, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Edgar and Doris (Jamieson) Lang. He graduated from Princeton High School and attended UW Oshkosh. He served with the Wisconsin National Guard and the Air Force Reserves.
David married Kathryn Retzlaff on June 16, 1962. He was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, serving on the church council and on many committees. David sang in the church choir for over 40 years and traveled with them singing in Europe and Carnegie Hall. He also participated in the Mens Serendipity Bible Study Group and enjoyed the knowledge gained and the fellowship of the group. Along with volunteering at Ripon Medical Center, he traveled to Mississippi to work with Habitat for Humanity many times.
David worked at Speed Queen for 32 years. After retirement he enjoyed time at their Green Lake cottage, traveling, volunteering and spending time with family and friends. Keeping in touch and visiting with his European friends was a special joy to him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Kathryn of Ripon, WI; daughter, Holly (Burton) Robertson of Waterford, WI; son, Timothy Lang of Kaukauna, WI; three grandchildren, Andrew and Alexander Robertson and Cori Lang; sister, Ruth (John) Weiske; brothers-in-law, Orville (Janice) Retzlaff, Carleton (Patricia) Retzlaff and Donald (Caroline) Retzlaff; sister-in-law, Virginia Lang. David is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. David is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Miriam and brother, Franklin.

4 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Thursday, October 13, 2011, from 9:30 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St. Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for David Lang will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. Reverend Mark R. West will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established.
