David H. Sasada, age 77, of Ripon, was reunited with his parents in eternal life on Monday, December 5, 2016, at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, in King, WI.
David was born on February 5, 1939, in Ripon, son of Harvey and Mary (Raatz) Sasada. He graduated from Ripon High School, and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy. David worked at Ripon Foods and Fabrico, and was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. He made many friends at King, where he was in charge of the mail delivery to other residents. He was an incredible trumpet player. He was first chair from eighth grade through high school, played in a band called Two Hits and a Miss, played with Les Brown, and also was the head of the music section in the Navy for 4 years.
David is survived by his two sisters, Shirley Cotter of Zephyrhills, Florida, and Maryann Klettke of Oshkosh, WI; nephews: Dennis Cotter, Mark Cotter, Jeff (Jeni) Cotter, Brian Cotter, Christopher (Pam) Klettke, Kevin (Connie) Klettke, and Corey (Jennifer) Klettke; and further survived by great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, James Cotter, and two great-nephews.
Visitation for David will be held from 1:00 2:00 pm on Monday, December 12, 2016, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI.
A funeral service for David will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 12, 2016, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon, with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, N2665 County Road QQ, King, WI, 54946. His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King for their wonderful care of David over the years.
