David Zech, age 78, of W5114 Hwy 26, Brandon, passed away Friday, May 9, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh.
David was born March 11, 1925 in Ripon, the son of Frank and Edna (Zamzow) Zech. He was educated in the Rush Lake area. On July 16, 1949, he married Joyce Whitney. David was employed for the Fond du Lac County Highway Dept. for 28 years. He very much enjoyed attending horse pulls, tractor pulls, working on his mini-farm and especially enjoyed playing with his great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Brandon; Children, Darrell Zech of Brandon, Douglas Zech of Waupun, Bernard (Lois) Zech of Waupun, Ricky (Rose) Zech, of Fond du Lac, Barbara (Steven) Ballard of Rosendale and Charles Zech and special friend, Cindy Kujac of Brandon. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four sisters; Edythe Schattschneider, Grace (Albert) Schattschneider, Vera Wepner and Ruby (Walter) Vollbrecht and one aunt, Ruth Otto. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Beverly, and one great-granddaughter, Brooke.
Visitation will be Monday, May 12, 2003, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. R ev. David A. Busker will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
