Dean Richard Kaupe, age 51, of Green Lake, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Dean was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, on October 7, 1957, the son of Robert and Mary Alice Sue (Bennett) Kaupe. The family moved to California in 1970, he graduated from Novato High School and Dean joined the US Navy in 1977. He attended Indian Valley College in Novato. CA, and the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. On November 16, 1985, he married Deborah Willey in Appleton, WI. Dean served his country in the US Navy for 20 years, and than worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Fond du Lac. He was a member of Our lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, the AFSCME, and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife Deborah Ann Kaupe of Green Lake; his children, Michael of Oshkosh, Matthew of Baraboo, and Meaghan of Green Lake; his mother Sue Driscoll of California, four brothers, Mark, Daryl, David, and Christopher all of California; and many nieces and nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation for Dean Kaupe will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. And again on Thursday, January 29, 2009, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, with Father Philip Krogman officiating. A memorial has been established in his name.
