Dela Asmus

March 18, 1916 — February 15, 2006

Dela E. (Prellwitz) Asmus, age 89, N8977 State Road 44, Ripon, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 15, 2006 at her home under Hospice Care.

Dela was born March 18, 1916 in Rush Lake, a daughter to William and Lillian (Trapp) Prellwitz. On March 8, 1941 she married Conrad Asmus Jr. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon; and Lakeshore Homemakers. Dela was a farmer’s wife and a homemaker, known for her wonderful cooking skills and beautiful flower garden.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Ralph) Gruetzmacher of Princeton; a sister, Anita Penke, Oshkosh; one grandson, Matthew (Rebecca) Hibicki of Ripon; one granddaughter, April Gruetzmacher of Princeton; one niece, Diane Penke of Oshkosh; one nephew, Darwin (Connie) Penke of Port Edwards; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Arnold Prellwitz; a son, Norman Asmus; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Hibicki.

Funeral services for Dela E. Asmus will be held Friday, February 17, 2006, at 1:30 p.m., at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon, with the Reverend Mark
R. West officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11:30 a.m., until the time of service at the church. Internment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established to Ministry Home Care.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice nurses and staff at Ministry Home Care and Affinity Visiting Nurses. Also, thank you to Reverend Mark West and Reverend Jerry Schrankler for their home visits and support to the family.
