Deloris Mellenthin

Deloris Marjorie Mellenthin, age 93, of Beaver Dam, WI, went home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 25, 2015.
Deloris was born December 31, 1921, at home in the Town of Beaver Dam, the daughter of Erwin and Elsie (Zuehlke) Krueger. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1939. On June 27, 1942, Deloris married Oscar Mellenthin at St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. She worked with her husband at the Beaver Sport Shop which they owned and operated for many years. Deloris was a life-long member of St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was very involved with Ladies Aid, Mission Aid, Owls and Bible study groups. She traveled to many Synod conferences with fellow church women all over the country. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Beaver Dam and the Third Street Band for many years. Deloris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved people and enjoyed helping others.
Survivors include her children, James (Mary) Mellenthin of Ripon, WI, Cheryl Mellenthin of Cat Spring, TX and Barbara (Dale) Walker of Beaver Dam, WI; five grandchildren, Michelle Mellenthin and Erin Mellenthin, Bruce Walker, Bonnie Walker and Billie Jean Walker; one sister, Arleen Zuelsdorf of Madison, WI and sister-in-law, VirJean Mellenthin of Spencer, WI. She is further survived by great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Deloris is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oscar; sister, Georgine Meyers and son-in-law, Mark A. Chapman.
Visitation for Deloris will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015, from 9 – 11:00 am at St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam, WI 53916.
Funeral Service for Deloris will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at 11:00 am at St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Reverend Seth Dorn will officiate. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in Beaver Dam. Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hillside Hospice, 709 S. University Ave., Beaver Dam, WI 53916 and PUPS – Prevent Unwanted Pets, 1884 Bostik Rd., Cat Spring, TX 78933.
