Dennis Morris

Dennis “Denny” Morris, age 70, of Ripon, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the University Hospital in Madison, with his family at his side.

Denny was born in Randolph, WI on March 27, 1938, the son of Leo and Mabel (Born) Morris. He graduated from Ripon High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. On February 18, 1961 he married Sally Ann Poch. Denny was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and the Ripon Jaycees. He worked at AFK Foundry, R-Line Foods, and a salesman for 30 plus years at Lancaster Chevrolet Oldsmobile and Baird GM, and was a parts delivery driver for Waupun Auto Supply (NAPA).

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Henry) Hilscher of Ripon; granddaughter, Laura (fiancé Josh Reinsch) Hilscher of Ripon; Stepfather, Robert Roeder of Ripon; and two brothers, Theodore Morris of St. Augustine, FL, and Philip Morris of Sebring, FL; three sisters-in-law, Mildred (Bud) Olson of Appleton, Katherine Thomas of Kingston, MA, and Mary Jane Poch of Penacook, NH. Denny was preceded in death by his mother Mabel Morris Roeder, his wife Sally Morris, one brother, Mike Morris, and one sister, Constance Madigan.

Visitation for Denny Morris will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009, from 4-7:00 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at 10:00 am at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 217 Houston St. in Ripon, with Father Thomas H. McAlpine officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Fairwater Cemetery, Village of Fairwater. A memorial has been established.
