Dennis Karl Nimmer, 46, of N8611 Comorn Rd, Ripon, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at Ripon Medical Center.
He was born July 1, 1956, in Fond du Lac, a son to Donald and Audrey (Wagner) Nimmer. Dennis graduated from Mellen High School, and received associate degrees from Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, MI and Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac. He had been an electrician for Mayville Engineering, and also had worked at Speed Queen for 16 years. Dennis had served in the U.S. Navy from 1976-1980. On June 13, 1981, he married Jill Vlasak at St. Peters Church in Slinger.
He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Nimmer of Ripon; 3 children, Danielle, Nicholas and Nathan, all at home; his parents; 3 brothers, Douglas (Catherine) Nimmer, Charles (Carlina) Nimmer and Jody Nimmer; his in-laws, Frank and Betty Vlasak of Slinger; 5 brothers & sisters-in-law, Barb (Bill) Yochem, Sue Vlasak, Dennis (Sue) Vlasak, Ken (Melissa) Vlasak, and Sandy (Sammy) Feria; and nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; 2 nephews; 1 niece, and 1 uncle.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 2, 2002, at 11 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Ripon with Fr. Robert A. Fictum officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. A memorial has been established.
