Dennis Schaetzka

Dennis Dean Schaetzka, age 73, of Pickett, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at his home with his family by his side.

Dennis was born June 11, 1941, in Livingstone, WI, the son of William and Ruth (Peterson) Schaetzka. He graduated from Ripon High School and on May 27, 1961, Dennis married Patricia Ann Hansen. Dennis worked for a variety of businesses including Mercury Marine and Alliance Laundry Systems. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling and being with his dog, Penny. Most of all Dennis loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Schaetzka of Pickett, WI; two daughters, Karen Toney of Berlin, WI and Sandy Rogge of Oshkosh, WI; son, Steven Schaetzka of Brandon, WI; eight grandchildren, Andy Rogge, Angela Henriksen, Amy, Megan, Loran and Jacob Schaetzka, Nick Toney and Sarah Kuhnz; many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon Standke, Trudith Frei and Donna Munsey. Dennis is further survived by nieces, nephews and his best friend, his dog, Penny. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Donald L. Toney and mother and father-in-law, Lorraine and Eugene Hansen.

Visitation for Dennis will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 12:30 – 2:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial Service for Dennis will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Donald Deike will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Utica. A memorial is being established in his name.
