Donald Don Charles Goyette, age 83, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013, at Ripon Medical Center with family by his side.
Don was born April 12, 1930, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Leo and Mae (Green) Goyette. He graduated from Ripon High School. Early in Dons career he was a general contractor and built many new homes in and around Ripon. He then took the position of Superintendent of Construction for commercial builders, building schools. One of his first was Ripon High School. This position took him all over the state and into Minnesota. In the 70s, he built almost all of the ShopKos and sixty-four K-Marts in that area. He then went on to join Malan Construction based in Detroit MI, building more K-Marts and Retail Shopping centers. His biggest accomplishment there was overseeing the building of the Brickyard Mall, a three level mall in Chicagos northwest side. After retiring he still continued to build. He turned a 40 acre woods, north of Ripon into a residential subdivision. Don loved the outdoors and nature. One of his greatest joys was when he was out at his land, driving his tractor and watching the wildlife around his pond. Don was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church of Ripon.
