Donald Brooks Johnson, 82, of Ripon-Green Lake, passed away on April 24, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.
Don was born on January 16, 1927, in Chicago, IL, the son of Elmer and Leticia Letty (Dahlrymple) Johnson. He graduated from South Shore High School in Chicago, IL and Grinnell College in Iowa on a football scholarship. Don served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He worked in the paper industry and raised his family in Appleton, WI. Don loved deer hunting, fishing, and sports. Don enjoyed spending time in Montana fly fishing and dude ranching.
Survivors include his three children, Jeri Lynn (Bill) Russell of London, England; Scott Donald Johnson of Green Bay, WI; and Laura Ann (Mark) Koepke of Sussex, WI; the mother of his children, Jelaine Johnson of Madison, WI; five grandchildren, Andrew, Jason, Kendall Koepke, and Bill & Michael Russell. Don was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Elmer & William.
Visitation for Donald B. Johnson will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. at the Pilgrim Center, W1010 Spring Grove Road, Ripon.
A Celebration of Life for Donald B. Johnson will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. at the Pilgrim Center, with Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating.
