Donald Joseph Keller, age 40, died Monday morning, November 5, 2001, under Hospice Care at his home in Ripon, after a long, courageous battle with brain cancer.
He was born September 30, 1961, in Berlin, a son to Kenneth and Joan (Chier) Keller. He graduated from Berlin High School. On August 17, 1985, he married Amy Nitz at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon and they made their home in Ripon. He was a member of Our Saviour’s United church of Christ. Don had worked as a crane operator at Westra Construction in Waupun for 7 years, and loved his job. He also loved to hunt.
Survivors include his wife, Amy of Ripon; parents, Ken and Joan Keller of Berlin; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” (Terry) Keller and Tom “T.K.” (Jennifer) Keller all of Berlin; two sisters, Sue Unser of S. Carolina and Nancy Keller (Don Krause) of Berlin; nieces, nephews and cousins; grandmother, Irene Keller of Berlin; and mother-in-law, Myra Nitz of Green Lake. He was preceded in death by one son, Kyle Joseph Keller; one sister, Julie; paternal grandfather, Leo Keller and maternal grandparents, Ted and Verna Chier.
Funeral service for Donald J. Keller will be 11 am on Thursday, November 8, 2001, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ with Reverend Gerald Schrankler officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Interment will be in Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
