Donald Kinas

Donald Edward Kinas, age 84, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.

Don was born November 2, 1929, in Green Lake, the son of Oswald and Virginia (Johnson) Kinas. He was a graduate of Green Lake High School and attended two years of college in Madison. Don served our country in the United States Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific. On July 21, 1955, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Brooks. He was an owner and operator of Kopplin & Kinas Co. in Green Lake. Don was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake and also served for many years on the Green Lake School Board. Don was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was involved with their activities attending many of the high school and college sporting events that they were in. Don enjoyed driving the back roads of Wisconsin with his wife, Mary, but always came back at night to feed his pet pot belly pig “Ed”.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Brooks Kinas, Green Lake, WI and their children, Katie (Keith) Kinas – Warren, Green Lake, WI, Charlie Kinas (special friend Tracy), Germantown, WI, Oswald Kinas (special friend Kandy), Green Lake, WI, Bill (Lori) Kinas, Green Lake, WI, Ward Kinas, Green Lake, WI, Chris (Sue) Kinas, Princeton, WI, Letty (special friend Matt) Kinas, Green Lake, WI; grandchildren: Kara, John, Mary Claire, Ben (Tiffany), Katelynn, Emily, Colin, Jake, and Brad; great-grandson, Cameron; brother, Ken Kinas; and sister-in-law, Carol (Harlon) Kinas – Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oswald and Virginia Kinas; brother, Thomas Kinas; sister-in-law, Mary G. Kinas; and daughter-in-law, Sherry Kinas.

Per the family’s wishes there will be a private family service held on Saturday, May 10, 2014. Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez will officiate. Inurnment will be held at Dartford Cemetery with full Military Honors. A memorial is being established.
