Donald William Redman, age 55, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 1985, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Donald was born May 30, 1929, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Arthur and Lydia (Kloehn) Redman. He served our country in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954. Donald graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He married Jean Washkoske on June 15, 1951 in Ripon. Donald worked as a science teacher at Ripon Middle School since 1958. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, a member of Soil Water Conservation Department and Conservation and was awarded Teacher of the Year Award in 1981. Donald was also a member of City Planning Commission, Alderman 1st Ward from 1968 to 1980, a member of the Ripon Teachers Association, Izaak Walton League, he helped start the arboretum at Ripon Middle School and was instrumental in the planning for the planting of trees in downtown Ripon.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; four daughters, Sara (Richard) Jump of Indianola, MS, Grace Redman of Chicago, IL, Beth (William) Higgins of Madison, WI and Laurie Redman of Downers Grove, IL; one son, Arthur Redman of Madison, WI and two grandchildren, two brothers, Kenneth of Tuscon, AZ and Gary of Madison, WI and sister, Diane Wheeler of Gig Harbor, WA. Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Donald will be held on Sunday, April 7, 1985, from 3 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Mass of Christian Burial for Donald will be held on Monday, April 8, 1985, at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Reverend John A. Schmitz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
