Donald George Spies, of 842 Watson St., died Tuesday morning, August 1, 1989, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1940, in Belleville, IL, to Russell and Elsie Schuessler Spies. On June 5, 1976, he married Lois Rae Carlson.
Mr. Spies received his Doctorate of Music at Northwestern University and his Masters Degree at Cleveland Institute of Music. He attended Washington University and received his Bachelor of Music at Northwestern University. He was Professor of Music at Ripon College and had lived in Ripon since 1968.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Carlson; two sons, Soren and Skander at home; his mother, Elsie Spies of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and one sister, Brenda Coffman of Wheaton, IL.
There will be no visitation or service.
A memorial has been established for an endowment to an organ series at Ripon College and for the Christian Science Church.
