Donald E. Stracy, 58, of Nekoosa, formerly of Ripon, died February 28, 1995, at River View Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
He was born September 18, 1936, in Ripon, a son of the late Elmer and Marie (Splittgerber) Stracy. He graduated from Ripon High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1954-57. On June 23, 1956, he married Doris Quade. Don worked at R-Line Foods in Ripon for 25 years prior to moving to Nekoosa in 1986 where he currently owned The Corner Beverage Mart. Don was a past member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, Ripon and a member of the Eagles Club.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; 2 sons, Richard (Catherine) Stracy of Windlake and George Stracy of Cedar Rapids, IA; 2 daughters, Patty (Bernie) Dobrowolski of Ripon and Kim (Mark) Disterhaft of Princeton; 6 grandchildren; and 4 step-grandchildren. Additional survivors include 1 brother, Charles (Doris) Stracy of Ripon; 1 sister, Mary (Don) Weiland of Colgate; mother-in-law, Jessie Quade; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for the late Donald E. Stracy will be held 1 P.M. Friday, March 3 at Our Saviours United Church of Christ, Ripon. The Rev. James D. Mohr will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 8 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, and again on Friday from 12 noon until the hour of the service at the church. A memorial has been established.
