Donna Mae Buchholz of Green Lake, WI, was called home on Saturday, September 5, 2015.
Donna was born on November 12, 1931, in Split Rock, Wisconsin the daughter of Laura (Kersten) and Reinhold Bloch. She was baptized and confirmed in Frieden's Evangelical Church (Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church) in Green Lake where she was a life-long member. In 1957, she married Garth Buchholz and they shared 39 wonderful years of marriage.
Donna was a graduate of St. Josephs Hospital School of Medical Technology in Milwaukee. She worked as a Medical and X-ray Technician at Ripon Hospital where she established the hospitals first blood bank. Donna worked for the Green Lake Public School District while raising her children. In 1984, she completed her bachelors degree in Library Science at UW-Oshkosh. She worked for the Ripon College Library and Ripon Public Library until her retirement.
Survivors include the couples daughters Mary (June) Buchholz, Jan (Mike) Novak, Donna (Joe) Burtch, and Carol (Bill) Evans; grandchildren Amy and Adam Burtch, Russell (Crystal) and Erik Evans, Craig (Stephanie), Bryan and Sam (fiancée Angie) Novak, and Chelsey Clark; and great grandchildren Emma Causby and Connor Novak. She is also survived by her brother Willis Bloch, sister-in-law Betsy Bloch, special Aunt Margaret Alf, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends and her silky-eared tail wagger, Mandy. Donna was preceded in death by her dear husband Garth, her parents, brother Arlin Bloch, sister Lois Loeffler, brother-in-law Robert Loeffler, sister-in-law Anna Lou Bloch, nieces Amy Bloch and Nancy Blain, nephew Chuck Loeffler, Bjorg (Nyen) Wickert, and many other relatives.
Donnas faith in God was unwavering. She will be remembered for her graciousness, her compassion and her love of animals. Time with family and friends brought her great joy.
Visitation for Donna will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, from 1 2:00 pm. at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Lake, 440 Lake St., Green Lake, WI 54941. There will be additional time for fellowship at the church following the committal service at the cemetery.
The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Lake. Reverend Rodney E. Dietsche will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in the City of Green Lake.
